Despite the fact that the feds have earmarked $100 million in stimulus to save public school jobs, many schools are taking major hits due to city budget. Public schools were in need of major overhauling before the recession, who knows what will happen now. It may make some parents consider if homeschooling is a better option, especially if one parent has recently lost their job.

Before I forget...

I wanted to share with you a website I use for part of my curriculum- it's called Time4Learning.com. Many of you may have heard of this program. Those who haven't, it's an online educational program used by small children in preschool to older kids in the eighth grade. My son who is in the kindergarten level uses it daily. We use it for science, math and language arts (reading, spelling, phonics, etc.).

Because my son's level of comprehension differ in each subject, he can work at his own pace. This program is very engaging with the use of tutorials, games and interactive videos with the ability to set a time limit to. When each subject is completed you can have your child complete a quiz/test or repeat the lessons until they truly get the understanding of it. Parents can keep track of their child's progress and print it out by day, week or month. I really appreciate that.

Like I said in the beginning, it is part of our curriculum and this program allows us to subsidize the lessons used in schools that are correspondent to the standards met bet by that state.

I received a nonbinding 14 day trial and a choice to cancel anytime. If you try and like it, you have made a smart investment. Remember you can cancel anytime with a money back guarantee. Also the website has demo lessons you can try out before even signing up for a trial itself.

So if you're homeschooling or need a supplement for your child's already educational program, this is a choice to look into.
